Thread Veins, Vascular Lesions & Rosacea
This is one of my favourite areas of facial work, the results can quite simply be life changing.
From a simple spider naevus on the cheek or the end of your nose to the serious redness and pustular formation of true acne rosascea the end results of using the IPL procedure can be truly spectacular, in some cases truly life changing.
How does the procedure work, quite simply IPL or Intense Pulsed Light is delivered into the vascular lesion (blemish) by resting the light guide directly onto the area after thorough cleansing and a thin layer of chilled gel has been applied. A short pulse of light is released, a slight warm ping is felt, discomfort varies very much from person to person but is usually quite acceptable and the procedure is carried out quite quickly.
Results can often be immediately visible. Number of treatments vary depending on the needs of the presenting condition of the client, often between 1 and 5 treatments.
Post procedure cooling is the most important after care, a cold damp flannel applied at regular intervals should ensure a safe outcome.
Make up may be applied directly afterwards if you feel self~conscious as the skin can be rather pink, we can do this for you if you wish.
Treatment time is quick between 15 and 30 minutes.
Price between £85.00 and £150.00 costs determind by area size:
Sides of nose £85.00, both cheeks and nose £100.00, cheeks, nose and chin £125.00, full face £150.00
Spacing between treatments is between 4 and 8 weeks to the same area
Extra costs: All Laser procedures require a full consultation, photos and test patch which comprises a partial treatment, this is an essential requirement to assess whether or not your skin can tolerate the procedure and ensures our medical insurance kicks in.
Consultation and test patch cost is £25.00 allow upto 45 minutes. Treatment can then take place from 48 hours after test patch.
Suitable for Skin Types 1,2,3
Dont’s, you can not be treated if you have either a genuine or a cosmetic tan in the area to be treated as the pigment will also pick up the light. Go on a tanning holiday until 28 days after treatment.
If possible please attend without foundation and especially bronzers with glitter in, we do clean the skin very thoroughly but the glitter tends to travel rather than removing, thank you.
For all clients but especially those of you suffering from pustular acne rosascea to get a truly effective result your skin care procedure has to be reviewed, for this we do a Skin Scan prior to your test patch to assess for pigmentation as this always responds to the light before the vascular and to advise you on how to calm and strengthen your skin, samples are supplied where possible and you are advised on your routine.
Think of your skin as a layer cake comprising of 3 tiers, the top layer is where the sun damage and pigmentation sits, so this will always respond to IPL first, then the vascular is the 2nd layer and your 3rd and final layer is where photo rejuvenation takes place, a key side effect you will always get from your IPL treatments is improved skin colour, texture and strength.
This is a great bonus to both vascular and rosascea clients as you will find your treatments by strengthening your skin you will greatly reduce visible future capillary breakdown.
Equipment used is the Lynton Lumina AQS System, fully maintained and serviced by Lynton.
